Imagery: Response Assignment to "My Old Newcastle"

You read the memoir by David Adams Richards called "My Old Newcastle" on page 218 of the textbook. The memoir is loaded with many different images. Follow the steps below to complete your on-line assignment for this reading.
  1. Reread the selection and choose five descriptions of imagery that you find particularly powerful. Decide the senses to which the images appeal (sight, sound, taste, touch, smell).
  2. Do a search on www.google.ca for images (change usage rights to help you find images that are copyright friendly or copyright free). You can also use photos for class to search images.
  3. Gather five actual pictures/graphics that you feel convey effectively the images that David Adams Richard created from the five descriptions that you selected
  4. Click here to see an example of only one slide for this assignment (remember, you are doing five)
  5. Using Google Slides or Microsoft PowerPoint (make sure you are logged into your own account), copy each image and the direct link from the website where you obtained the image (in other words, give credit)
  6. Type in the descriptive quote from the memoir, and also include the sense(s) to which the image appeals and make sure you also have the web address link for the image
  7. Create a title page that includes your name, a title and the date
  8. Look over the assignment rubric (see below) to make sure you have included everything and consider what mark you think you should get
  9. Share your work through Google Drive with your teacher (Google: allancarterspace@gmail.com Microsoft: allan.carter@nbed.nb.ca)
